Bitcoin Treasury Operations
The Japanese investment firm purchased the additional 497 BTC at an average price of $88,448 per Bitcoin, increasing its total holdings to 2,888 BTC, amounting to roughly $240.2 million.

This latest acquisition also follows closely after Metaplanet’s purchase of 156 BTC on Monday for $13.4 million. Since announcing its crypto acquisition strategy in April 2024, the company has slowly established its Bitcoin treasury operations as a core business unit.
Lofty Ambitions
The firm has set ambitious goals for 2025, aiming to accumulate 10,000 BTC by the end of the year as well as 21,000 BTC by the end of 2026. Metaplanet’s stock saw a 17% increase on Wednesday in Japan, while the Nikkei 225 index gained 0.55% so far today.
